Sometimes Happiness, Sometimes Sadness) is a Bollywood film released in India and countries with large NRI populations on December 14, 2001. It features Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in a guest appearance. It is director Karan Johar's second movie (after Kuch Kuch Hota Hai). Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was the highest grossing Indian film overseas till 2006, when its record was broken by Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. It climbed up to 3rd place in the British box office within two weeks of release, and maintained its place for over 3 weeks. The film was also thought to have broken the American Box Office Top 10, but this remains uncertain due to a lack of confirmed figures from the distributors. The film was the first Bollywood feature to see a theatrical release in Germany (with German subtitles, a dubbed version was produced, too). It was the highest grossing Indian film ever until Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas (2002) released.

Beach Boys frontman Mike Love, who owns the rights to the band's name, has released a statement saying he will not tour with founder members Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks beyond the band's UK tour dates this week.

The reunion of founding members of the Beach Boys will not continue beyond this week, according to the band's frontman Mike Love.
Brian Wilson and Al Jardine – both founding members of the legendary Californian pop group – have been told their involvement in the band's touring commitments will cease after this week.
David Marks, who originally joined the band as a replacement for Jardine in 1962, is also to be relieved of his touring duties.
Singer Mike Love, who owns the rights the band's name following a series of legal battles, released a statement which said:
"The post-50th anniversary configuration will not include Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks. The 50th Reunion Tour was designed to be a set tour with a beginning and an end to mark a special 50-year milestone for the band."

Wilson, Jardine and Marks had been recalled by Love earlier this year to play together for the first time since 1998 to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary with a world tour. The trio will now be replaced by the group's long-serving backing band, which includes Love's son Christian.
Love, 71, added that the decision was financially motivated:
"You've got to be careful not to get overexposed. There are promoters who are interested [in more shows by the reunited line-up], but they've said, 'Give it a rest for a year'. The Eagles found out the hard way when they went out for a second year and wound up selling tickets for $5."
It is reported that Wilson, Jardine and Marks only found out about the decision when the statement was issued.
Wilson, 70, who started the band with his late brothers Dennis and Carl in 1961, has criticised the statement from Love, his cousin.
He told CNN: "I'm disappointed and can't understand why he doesn't want to tour with Al, David and me. We are out here having so much fun. After all, we are the real Beach Boys."
Jardine, 70, has backed an internet campaign to get the three members reinstated and "preserve the validity of The Beach Boys as a whole".
The original members will perform the last concerts of their 50th anniversary celebration tour at London's Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Arena.
The Beach Boys are one of the most successful pop bands of all time. In a career spanning five-decades and 30 studio albums, the band have sold over 100 million records worldwide. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, and in 2001 received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Earlier this year, the surviving members of the Beach Boys recorded their first album of new material since 1992, That's Why God Made the Radio.

It is unclear as to whether Wilson, Love and Jardine will be invited to feature on any future studio recordings.
